Gidley to Team with Koreiba and AL Autosport with JDC for the Remaining IPC Rounds

SAVAGE, MN (May 4, 2022) – Al Autosport with JDC has confirmed Memo Gidley to drive alongside Alexander Koreiba in the No. 23 Duqueine D08 for the remaining IMSA Prototype Challenge rounds – beginning with next week’s Round 2 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The decision comes following a highly successful team debut at Daytona International Speedway. AL Autosport team principal, Alex Damalas – who was initially set to share driving duties with Koreiba – has elected to step aside and allow Gidley to use the points he collected in Daytona to aim for the season long championship.

“Wow, I'm so looking forward to this,” said Gidley. “Alexandar Koreiba is a super up and coming driver, and a really nice person, so being his teammate for the rest of the year is great! Alex Damalas, our team owner, is a super likable man and has so much support and belief for our effort. Then the JDC team is a hardworking, great group of experienced racers. This will be my first full time ride in 10 years, which is crazy to think, but I am just very excited to see what the AL Autosport with JDC team can do!”

Twenty-four year old Koreiba is eager to lean on Gidley’s experience as he works on honing his own skills in his first year of IMSA competition.

“It’s an honor to have a veteran driver of Memo Gidley’s caliber joining AL Autosport with JDC, and I’m really excited to be his teammate full time for the 2022 IMSA Prototype Challenge season,” added Koreiba. “I’m looking forward to taking on the rest of the schedule with Memo, and judging from our podium finish in our debut race together at Daytona, I think we’re off to a great start.”

Following a three-month gap in the IMSA Prototype Challenge schedule, the AL Autosport with JDC team is gearing up for Round Two at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The Minneapolis-based group has already spent the last two days testing in preparation for the event.

“The Mid-Ohio racetrack brings back a lot of great memories for me”, said Gidley. “The location is awesome and the track is very technical and challenging to drive- it’s definitely a rhythm type track!  The fans that come to watch are awesome and so knowledgeable about racing. It has been great to have their support over the years.”
